September 2019 - Toddlers Parent Cue
SAY THIS:
Who made everrything?
GOD MADE EVERYTHING.
 GENESIS 1-2
God made the world and everything
in it on days one through six, and then
He rested on day seven.
DO THIS:

 MORNING TIME

When you go into your child's room this month, say, "Good morning! Time to wake up! Let's look out of the window. What do you see? Yes! The [sun, trees, sky, etc.]! God made the [sun, trees, sky, etc.]!"

 DRIVE TIME

As you drive, play a game of "I Spy What God Made." Name something God made and then look for it together as you drive. When you spy it out the window, name something else and begin looking for it. When you get where you're going, ask your child, "Who made everything?" Together say, "God made everything!"

 CUDDLE TIME

Cuddle with your child this month and pray, "Dear God, thank You for making the sun to keep us warm and the moon to give us light at night and the stars to twinkle in the sky. You make such good things, God. Thank You! We love You. In Jesus' name, amen."

 BATH TIME

Cut a circle (sun) out of a new, dry, yellow sponge. Cut a flower shape out of a new, dry, pink sponge. Add them to bath time for your child to play with. Talk about how God made water and the sun to help the flowers He made grow.

BASIC TRUTH:
GOD MADE ME.
FROM PARENT CUE:
PLANTING SEEDS OF TRUTH FOR YOUR KIDS
By Candice Wynn

As early as I can remember, my mother intentionally planted seeds of confidence with hopes they would one day bloom into an indestructible positive self-image. She didthis because she knew that as we grew, we would be exposed to a world of judgment and criticism. And we needed to have the internal tools to face the good and the bad it would bring. For me, the bad that life brought was found in how adults freely made fun of my size.

Now, as a parent, I look at my beautiful children and see the unique way God has created each of them. And like my mother, I want to instill a positive self-image that will become their absolute truth. A positive self-image that potentially withstands bullying, the changes of puberty, and all other things life inevitably brings . . .
